Today is my 4th Birthday! Happy Birthday to me!

Unfortunately the weather is really horrid :-( Muzzle was hoping to take me to the woods for a lovely walk but she has postponed because of the awful wind and rain. Said it's not good to be around so many trees in case one falls on us!

Muzzle did bring me some free-range chicken in bed earlier though, which I ate snuggled under my blanket. Nom!

Hello, we hope you all had a great Christmas and have a wonderful New Year :-)

I have some news - I have a new Sister, called Daisy. You can see her on Muzzle's blog, here. She has perfected a very sweet and innocent, butter wouldn't melt look for the camera!

Muzzle was taking some photos of her last night and making noises to get Daisy to look at her and I was intrigued too, so I got off the sofa, stuck my tongue into Muzzle's mouth and asked her to photograph me too. Not that she needs asking as she says I am beautiful and a true joy to photograph.

A Little Gift

Hello all, haven't blogged for quite a while. Thank you to those who left kind messages when we lost Jasper. Muzzle has been having a difficult time and I've been doing my best to cheer her up.

Recently, we've been taking part in the Pedigree Adoption Drive 2011, which aims to raise £100,000 to help rescues in the UK. Muzzle is hosting a virtual kennel on her blog and anyone can take the lovely Ripley dog for a virtual walk to unlock a donation for rescue (so do take a minute to go and visit, it doesn't matter where you live!).

Today we received a little gift - an adoption drive ID tag - for taking part. Muzzle photographed me wearing the new tag. She told me I'm beautiful :-)

That Friday Feeling

Hello, long time no blog again, sorry. Hope you are all well.

We had some more bad news about Jasper recently, the vets found a tumour in his abdomen area :( Due to his heart problem and general fragility, in discussion with various vets, Muzzle and Dad decided not to put him through surgery or anything else invasive. So we are counting each day with him as a blessing. He is doing ok at the moment and still up for little walks.

I did have some Good News recently though, following my last blood test for my liver enzyme levels. Visit Muzzle's Blog to read about it :)

We have had a worrying week as my older brother Jasper has a poorly heart and as you can imagine, Muzzle and Daddy are worried :(

Jasper is on meds and has another vet check in a couple of weeks. He's still got a good appetite and zest for life and as we always have, are counting each day with him as a blessing.

Today it would have been my big Sister Cassie's Gotcha Day. Muzzle wrote a long blog about her here.

Muzzle and Dad got sad lots today, but we decided to remember all the wonderful years and times we all shared with Cassie too and celebrate her life. She really was the BBSE!

Sorry also to the lovely people who had left comments on previous posts. Muzzle hadn't had any notification of them so had only just seen them. Not sure why they didn't come straight through. Usually it's just the spam that gets held back.

Thank you so much to the very gorgeous Dexter who very kindly requested good thoughts for me on his (and Mango's) blog and thank you so much to everyone who has taken the time to post here and wish me well. We are so grateful for your thoughts.

Muzzle says I look so fit and healthy but the results are still really worrying her (and the vets are concerned too and talking about ultrasounds). We are really hoping that this new supplement does the trick and brings my results back to an acceptable level on the next test.

Could you spare some thoughts for my little old brother Jasper too please? He's 13 plus and has a heart murmur and now his liver isn't looking so good. He is still very much enjoying life, but he could do with some healing energy too please. You can meet him here.

Hello, hope all my blogging friends are well. A special hello to the gorgeous Mango as he has been a bit poorly of late :( We have always loved Mango and his gorgeous Lab brother, Dexter, but ever since we lost our brindle girl Cassie last year, we have loved the Mango even more. Nothing beats a gorgeous brindle Mastiffy creature.

Muzzle is worrying about me at the moment and would like to ask for your good thoughts. I had a routine blood test a few months ago, which showed my liver enzyme levels were elevated. It was retested a few weeks later and the levels had risen (though I had had an operation and medication so we thought it might be related to that).

I then had a re-test a couple of months after that, after being on Milk Thistle for about 8 weeks. The levels had increased again :-( Muzzle took me to see our holistic vet today and we are trying an additional supplement for a month and then doing *another* blood test. I may have to be sedated and have an ultrasound after that.

Muzzle and Daddy are worried about the sedation and we just want me to be all well, so if you have any good thoughts to spare, we would love some to head my way. I am looking really good, am full of energy etc., but that isn't stopping Muzzle worrying.

Just Another Black Dog

Hello, although we are in the UK, we have recently discovered an amazing lady called Ashley who is in Mississippi in the United States, who dedicates her life to helping dogs and runs the Lucky Dog Rescue.

As the wise amongst us know already, black dogs are truly wonderful, beautiful creatures. However the unenlightened don't yet feel the same way and Ashley has a gorgeous dog called Pepsi who has been a foster dog for two years :( She is obviously very much loved and taken care of but this gorgeous girl is looking for a forever home of her very own.

Paws for Japan - World Vets

Thank you to the lovely people who are still visiting my blog and posted the other day, despite my long absence. Hope everyone is ok.

It was my Gotcha Day at the start of the week. Three years since I was adopted and came to live in my forever home. I had a lovely day, which included a walk with my older brother, in the woods, which makes me very excited. Here we are posing after a good run about. Great fun!

My older brother Jasper, who came to join us just last year, has had a couple of funny turns in recent months. He had one just a few days ago. Seems to be doing well now but Mum and Dad have kept a close eye on him. If you would like to send good thoughts, Mum made a post about him on her blog, here.

Also, if you are in the UK and know anyone looking to adopt a rescue dog, do keep an eye on her blog as she photographs a few of the lovely dogs looking for a great home. It's really sad that not every doggie has a wonderful home yet :-(

Mr Moo's Gotcha Day

Yesterday we celebrated my big brother Max's (AKA Mr Moo) eleventh Gotcha Day.

Muzzle says if you see him bouncing around and standing on his hind legs to try to grab apples from the tree (a trick he has very kindly passed onto me) you'd not think he was almost 12, but he is!

A few of our favourite photos of Mr Moo. For those of you who don't already know, I got my name because of him. When Muzzle and Daddy were waiting for a Lab pup to come into rescue, Muzzle was struggling to think of a suitable girlie name. She was having a chat with Mr Moo, as you do (you would, if you met him!), and told him that the puppy would be a little version of him, a mini-Moo - and there was my name, Minnie!

I received an amazing package from the USA recently - my prize for winning Dexter's Black Lab contest on the blog he is sometimes allowed to borrow from Mango the Magnificent.

I got so much stuff! Some balls to play with, a hard chewy thing which I am gradually working out what to do with and a fluffy Moose toy with squeaky bits! Oh and a card featuring a photo of the very handsome Dexter himself.

We also received three wonderful books which were very kindly donated by Randolph. I have given these to Muzzle as she's better at reading than me and she's really enjoying the first one :)

Really sorry, Dexter, we meant to post this a while back but Muzzle was going to take some photos of all the wonderful things. I have to have my chewy thing and toys at bed-time though or my brother will try to nick them - and Muzzle keeps forgetting to bring the camera! So we thought a photo-less post would be preferable to nothing - and we'll come back and add photos when Muzzle is being less rubbish!

Muzzle has been helping me update the design of my blog as I have always been more of a red girl than pink. We have also made a new banner showing some of Muzzle's favourite puppy photos of me, the grown-up Minnie-Moo photo she had made into a canvas, plus one of me rolling in the sunshine as that always makes her smile.

Flying through the clover

Not one of me as the observant amongst you will realise ;-) but one of my older brother Jasper, having fun running (or is it flying) through the clover.

For anyone new to my blog, Jasper has only been with us since New Year's Eve - his previous owner was very ill and the family took Jasper to a vet to be put down. The vet was reluctant to put him down, as although he was 12 he was in general good health, but they were closing for New Year. The vet contacted Oldies Club and Jasper came to us as an emergency foster. He loves life and is a really sweet boy. He helps Muzzle with fundraising for Oldies Club.

No more apples ...

My brother Max (AKA Mr Moo) and I like to eat apples from the garden when they fall from the tree. Muzzle lets us have some but stops us having *too* many - although her idea of too many seems to vary from ours!

She made us come in yesterday so we couldn't have anymore. This was my pwease can we have some more face ...

Black Labradogs are the best!

I have entered Dexter's black Labradog contest - you can read all about it here on the blog he shares with his lovely brother Mango.

While the untrained eye may think us black Labs all look the same, we do in fact vary quite considerably as I'm sure Dexter's contest will prove.

I may be slightly biased but I think us black Labradogs are the best. Muzzle says we're like sunshine and have such joy of life. She says we're always ready to go do something and have great enthusiasm for everything, whether it just be popping into the garden, or being fed, or going out for a great walk.

Muzzle says black Labradogs are always fun to be around and full of love and really enjoy spending time with their family and that she always plans to have at least one in her life at any time, preferably more :)

We have been taking Muzzle out for walks and this week she felt up to taking some photos of me playing chase/bounce with one of my brothers. Goodnight Cassie, sleep tight ♥

We are having a very sad time :-( My big sis, Cassie, very sadly passed away this week following a serious illness. Cassie had seemed completely fine until just over two weeks before she left us. Muzzle is heartbroken and crying lots and we are all missing her.

Cassie was 12 and a rescue Bullmastiff cross Muzzle and Dad adopted when she was 12 months old. She has been so lovely and gentle with me since I arrived from rescue as a pup and we had lots of great times playing and snuggling together. She really was a beautiful girl and we can't quite believe she has gone.

Muzzle is too upset to write much right now but is going to write a proper tribute to her, on her blog, once she is ready.

Here are a few photos - one of the five of us taken just a few months ago when everything was ok; one of Cassie and me snuggling when I was a pup; and one of the last photos taken of Cassie.

If anyone would like to light a candle for Cassie, that would be very kind.

Out for lunch

Yesterday Muzzle and Dad took me and Jasper, my Oldies Club brother, out to visit a garden. They had a cream tea and saved us each a little piece of the scone. Yummy!

Since Muzzle is usually behind the camera and not fond of being photographed, Dad took hold of the camera for a little while for a change and photographed us with Muzzle. We like this photo :-)

It was a beautiful garden and dogs are welcome, but we have to stay on lead. I usually want to charge around at the sight of lots of grass so it was a bit confusing for me but still fun!

Today it's my gotcha day, two years since Muzzle and Daddy brought me home, adopting me from Lab rescue.

I have had a fab weekend. Muzzle organised a little walk for me yesterday with some doggie friends and today I had a great walk too. I've chased my ball a lot this weekend!

We've had a few lovely days of sunshine this week which Muzzle said has made all the mud from previous days more bearable.

I've been boinging around in the sunshine, so thought I would share a few photos. Of me and of Jasper, my new old brother. Muzzle and Daddy started letting him off lead for the first time a few days ago (he is 12 but he's only been with us a few months and the vets who saved him warned he didn't recall so they've been working on this).

He was a very good boy and is loving running around off lead as you can see. Pretty good for a dog that was taken to the vets to be put down just before New Year?

Up and running

Hi all,

As you saw from my photo with the plastic cone on my head, I have been poorly recently :( The ABs helped with the infection in the skin around my eye, but then it got bad again so I had to go back to the vets for more drugs. I also had to have some tests run - I was very brave and let Muzzle leave me at the vets for a few hours while they sedated me to take some samples and blood. I was very pleased to see Muzzle and Daddy again when they picked me up! It seems I have an allergy to something and I itched it so much the skin got sore.

I am on ABs for another few weeks and Muzzle is taking me to see our holistic vet in a few weeks too. I am feeling much better now and don't have to wear the plastic cone, yay! The skin has healed really nicely and the hair that I lost around my eye is growing back well so Muzzle won't have to get out the black marker pen! (Joke!)

Muzzle took this photograph of me yesterday, she's finally able to let me run around in the muddy fields again without having to worry about nasty stuff getting into my skin and making the infection worse. Life is GOOD.

Our thought for the weekend ...

As some of my blog friends already know, Muzzle is involved with a UK dog rescue charity called Oldies Club, which rescues and rehomes dogs aged 7+. That's how my new old brother Jasper came to live with us.

We know many of you are in the US, so Muzzle wanted me to let you know about a few similar rescue groups she has heard of.

We love the "oldies" and wish that all dogs had lovely homes. Muzzle sometimes (often) is in tears because dogs are being put down because there aren't enough good homes. Please think about making your next dog a rescue dog. There are breeds, ages, sizes and personalities of rescue dog to suit every nice owner.

We are all rescue dogs here and we get on brilliantly, snuggle up on the sofa together and look appealingly for treats together too.

My new old brother

Hello everyone, thank you for the good wishes for my poorly eye (well the area around my eye).

I've finished my Anti-Biotics now and Muzzle is letting me have some time out of the plastic cone for good behaviour. She says I have been a very good girl at wearing it - when she went to put it back on after taking it off to clean it/give me a break etc., I poked my little head back through the collar for her, which she says helped her a lot.

Now to introduce you to our family member. He is 12 years old and has been with us four weeks now. He was due to be put down the day before New Year's Eve - you can read about that on the Oldies Club site here.

Jasper has settled in very well and Muzzle and Daddy say it feels like he has always been here. He is a very nice boy and we think he likes it here now. He was unsettled at first, but spending the night at the vets, then going in a car with strangers and then to another car and another home, must be upsetting.

This is one of the first photos Muzzle took of him, after managing to get him to settle in a dog bed for a while on his first evening.

This one was taken a week or so ago - love his white paw!

and these are from earlier this week. We think he is a very handsome boy :-)

Jasper loves to have a snuggle, likes to help Muzzle light the fire, sits nicely for his food and gets excited when it's time for a walk. When Muzzle gets his harness and lead he starts jumping a little in the air (though he sits when asked). Certainly not a boy ready for the Bridge so we're very grateful to the vets and Oldies Club for saving him. More photos etc. of Jasper here.

Birthday Walk

Thank you for my birthday wishes :) Muzzle arranged a little walk for me yesterday to celebrate my birthday with some great people and lovely dogs!

I got to play with my new ball and had a great run around. It was cold and frosty but a nice, dry, sunny winters day!

We stopped at the pub so that our people could have a coffee and then we walked back again. On the drive home we picked up some more logs and kindling so Muzzle could make us a nice warm fire. Perfect day :-)

Here are a few of the other dogs that joined us, including Jasper, who Muzzle, Daddy and I went to collect on New Year's Eve to foster for Oldies Club. I'll post about him separately soon as he deserves his own post.

This is Jess, who was adopted from Oldies Club :) She came along with her mum and dad and is as ball obsessed as me, maybe even a little more?! We think she is a very pretty girl.

This is Freddie, one of the Bassets that joined us on the walk. She was rather keen to get near the water and we're not sure how she avoided falling in at times (if you look at the link to more photos below, you'll see what I mean!).

Happy Birthday to Me!

Muzzle tells me that it's my birthday today! I am now two years old! She says I have grown into a wonderful, beautiful, adorable girl - here's a photo she took yesterday of my mature self LOL

Muzzle and Daddy bought me a new collar for my birthday - it's pink and rather "bling" and makes me look a bit like a cat so but Muzzle says at least people hopefully won't think I am a boy now! She thinks I am far too pretty to look like a boy but lots of people seem to assume I'm a boy because I'm black. Weird!

I think I also have a new rubber ball on a rope, will find out tomorrow on my birthday walk!

Hello! Hope you have all had a wonderful Christmas.

Ours was very good, we all got a new toy each and had some lovely walks and yummy food! Muzzle and Daddy gave us some of their roast dinner with our food which was very tasty.

We have had a bit of snow, but it's all melted now so the fields are muddy and a bit boggy, but who cares about a bit of mud when you're having fun? (Muzzle says she gets the horrid bit when she has to dry us down when we get home!).

I'm back!

Hello to all my friends, old and new!

Can't believe it's been so long since I last blogged. I blame Muzzle, she's been so busy I've not had much of a chance to use her computer. She's been sending out lots of packs for those people that have very kindly sponsored an oldie for Christmas.

Now she's warming herself by the fire, I thought I'd pop on for an update ...

Trying to think of what I have been up to since I last blogged. The most exciting thing would have to be the walk Muzzle and Daddy took me on last weekend. It was the Winter Walkies organised by Oldies Club, a wonderful UK dog rescue charity that Muzzle volunteers for. We met up with lots of dogs (Muzzle counted about 40!) and their people and had a fantastic walk around some trees - an arboretum is its posh name!

Muzzle took lots of photos which you can see HERE. I had a ball - literally, look:

All the dogs got on really well together and our people had a good chat too. We must have looked quite a sight for those other walkers we met along the way! There were five dogs there who were adopted from Oldies Club, who brought their lovely new families along for the walk, plus lots of dogs from other rescues, me included.

After the walk we met up at the start and shared goodies. We were very lucky that the weather was dry and sunny after all the rain we have had.

Muzzle and Daddy took me to a forest yesterday with one of my brothers. Lots of leaves had fallen off the trees - Muzzle called it Autumn? - and it was great fun running around in the leaves chasing my ball.

My brother had a fun time too apart from a few scary noises.

Some time back Muzzle helped me set up a Just Giving page to try to raise some more money from Labrador Rescue South East & Central, the rescue that very kindly took my mum in, gave her a safe place to have her babies (including me!) and then found wonderful homes for us all.

Last week I received my first donation to the page - Muzzle didn't realise until yesterday.

We aren't sure how/if we can contact the very kind person directly, so in the hope they may read this - THANK YOU so much for your kindness. The rescue does a wonderful job for Labradors and we are really pleased to help them in any little way that we can.

Walk with a Wiggle!

Yesterday Muzzle and I arranged a last minute walk with a friend of mine, Wiggle - a black Lab who is a sponsor dog from the same rescue as me - and his mum.

We walked along a river and through different fields where we chased balls, met nice people and dogs and had a splash in the river. Muzzle says I was quite brave as I went in a bit deeper in the river than usual so that I could retrieve the ball. She was pleased about this as it washed off the mud I'd got on me after laying down in a puddle!

We went to a pub/cafe place so the mums could have something to eat and drink and Muzzle saved me the last bit of her hash browns - yummy! Then daddy and his friend came and found us and took us home :)

and after that Muzzle and I wanted to show you just what wonderful things Wiggle, his "mum" and Labrador Rescue South East & Central have made happen. Wiggle came into rescue in summer 2008 after living a less than happy life for some time - this is one of the first photos his mum took of him - it makes Muzzle cry whenever she looks at the photo.

What an incredible transformation?! Wiggle looks so much younger, healthier and most importantly HAPPIER than he did last year. Muzzle says the light has come back into his eyes and that it would be hard to believe it was the same dog in both photos if we didn't know him. We love Wiggle :-)))

We have been enjoying really nice sunny - and not too hot for running - weather recently and Muzzle has been picking blackberries for us all to eat on our walks.

In the last few days Muzzle noticed I have been watching her picking the berries and have started copying her. She took some photos, including this one ...

Also one of me looking rather lovely - says Muzzle - and one of me having a good run around - my brother was chasing me. I love it when he does that - though Muzzle says she wishes I'd spend more time looking forward while I run around and maybe there'd be less chance of running into her. Oops.

This is a view of some of the fields we walk in. Muzzle says if the sea was just nearby too, it would be perfect.

Thinking of Bruce

Some of you may have read about Bruce, the dog seized from his family in Northern Ireland, believed to be of pitbull type (which are illegal in the UK, including Northern Ireland). The poor soul has been held in kennels for a long time and lots of people have been involved in trying to save his life and have him released.

Today his case is at the court of appeal and many people around the world have their fingers - and paws - crossed for Bruce.

Muzzle and I hope very much that Bruce is allowed to live and be released back to his family. He has done nothing wrong other than to be born of a physical appearance banned in some places :-( Imagine your dog being taken from you just because of how they look :-(

A few months ago various candlelit vigils were held around the world. Those that couldn't get to one were asked to hold their own at home and take a photo. These photographs were made into a number of montages posted on YouTube. This was the photo of Muzzle and me. We have been thinking of Bruce all day and hoping so much for a positive outcome.

Scrounging Minnie-Moo

Yesterday I spent the day at a charity dog show with Muzzle. She had a stall to sell her cards and it was right next to the Oldies Club stall so we had some good company.

Muzzle said I was very well behaved - such a good girl she let me stay off lead most of the day as I just hung around with her and the people nearby and said hello to lots of people and dogs. Muzzle was very proud of me and a few people told her how well behaved I was :)

This did mean I had the opportunity to check all those coming near the stalls for treats - and I did very well from this - well Muzzle said, who could resist this face ... ?

A new friend

Muzzle took me to visit a friend of hers earlier this week, they have moved to a really lovely place and we got to go on some great walks. It was so nice we could have stayed!

I met Muzzle's friend's daughter for the first time. She is really sweet and very dog friendly - they have dogs of their own too. She was persuaded to sit for a photo with me - she was dressed as Fireman Sam at the time. We had a great afternoon, hope to go again :-)

Woe is Minnie-Moo

I have hayfever! Muzzle took me to the vets and they said I had an ear infection and gave me some eardrops, but she wasn't sure that was what it was, so we saw another vet - and he diagnosed hayfever, which was the sort of thing Muzzle had been wondering about too.

So, I have a homeopathic remedy mix that Muzzle gives me twice a day - I'm not very keen on it, especially as I can't have a treat straight afterwards. See, woe is me. My ears are a bit sore so she has some oil to put on them each day too. I am also having some local honey on my food, though Muzzle says we will need to start doing all this much earlier next year, now that we know what's up.

We are hoping all these things will help me as I enjoy running in the fields too much to stop it and Muzzle says stopping me from running and having fun wouldn't be good for my health either.

Yesterday Muzzle and Daddy took me with them when Muzzle went to photograph a friend and her dogs.

I watched one of the dogs working with a training dummy and wanted to have a go, so their friend gave me one of the dummies (to keep, lucky me!) and I had a go at retrieving from the water. I love to retrieve and Muzzle said that tempted me a bit further into the water than I would usually go.

It may not have been quite how the "pros" do it, but we had great fun ...

Had a lovely walk today, met a little dog we meet sometimes and we had a good sniff and a play together and then a chill out. Muzzle said I was good and just used a firm paw to put him in his place when he was jumping at my face - she said it wasn't his fault he is so little and couldn't reach without jumping LOL.

We stopped for a rest while Muzzle and Daddy were talking with the little one's mum and Muzzle thought this made a really cute photo.

Then I had another play with my brother - Muzzle said it was good to see me being my usual calm self ...

LOL, she calls it my enthusiasm for life and loves me (lots) for it.

Yesterday when I was out with Muzzle and Dad, we met some puppies - they were VERY little and very sweet and Muzzle asked their mum if she could take some photos.

I posed with them for some photos but they were a bit fidgety so this was about the best one LOL.

A WINNER at last! (Face in a hole challenge)

Firstly many apologies for taking so long to decide on a winner for my Face in a Hole Challenge.

We had so man fantastic entries and really it's all Muzzle's fault that it's taken so long to announce the winner. Something to do with worrying about the credit crunch I think she said - I thought that was maybe some kind of new dog food or a breakfast cereal, but looking at her face, I think not :-(

Anyway, we tried to decide which was our absolute favourite but it was really tough, so in the end Muzzle printed out the names of our favourites on lots on little bits of paper, folded them all up, made me sit and stay and put the bits randomly down on the floor.

Then she sent me to them to choose the winning name - she picked up the first piece of paper I chose, which is the winner :-)

Walk with Little Louie

Today Muzzle and I met up with her friend Amy and her dog Louie, who is a rescue dog too, for a walk and a late breakfast (well I'd already had my breakfast but I got to share a little of theirs too!).

Happy Gotcha Day Wiggle!

Today we wanted to wish Wiggle a very happy first gotcha day. He went into the care of Labrador Rescue South East & Central, the same rescue I was adopted from. He was in a very sorry state to start with and he looks so much better now than he did a year ago.

You can visit Wiggle's blog here - there's a montage which will make you cry, so have tissues at the ready. You can see how old and sad he looked to start with and how amazing he looks now, after receiving lots of tlc from his mum.

We first met him in July, a few weeks after he had gone to his new mum- here he eye-ing up her ice cream!

We've met up with Wiggle, his brother Sir H and their human mum a few times now. My brother Max can be grumpy with other dogs, but Wiggle and Sir H have always been great with him so he regards them as his friends now. Amazing that Wiggle is such a wonderful dog after all he has been through.

Today Muzzle and Daddy took my brother Mr Moo (Max) and me to a forest to meet up with Wiggle and Sir H - who were both adopted from the same Lab rescue as me - and their mum. Wiggle and Sir H are LOVELY dogs. Max can be wary of dogs he doesn't know but they were very good with him from the first time he met them and he now regards them as part of his little doggie pack of friends.

Muzzle took LOTS of photos - it has been a lovely sunny day but we had lots of shade in the forest too.

Sir H (which seems to stand for Hippopotamus!) loves to wallow and headed straight for the first bit of muddy water we found:

but then didn't look too thrilled about carrying it on the rest of the walk

so Muzzle had to carry it in a bag - and she gave him one of my balls to carry for a bit instead:

We had a good walk around and went to find some *clean* water for Sir H on the way back:

He found a piece of "water art" to lie next to ...

and then rose from the water looking like a swamp monster!!

While Wiggle had a good swim - though sadly his ball sank and even though he spent a while looking for it, it had gone for good :-(

We had a lovely time and I can't wait to go again!

It was my Daddy's birthday today. They had arranged to go out for lunch with some friends and family and I was allowed to go to lunch too as I am a good girl when they eat out.

Muzzle took us for a nice walk first to try to tire me out before lunch. The sun was out and we met a few new dogs that we've not seen before, including this spaniel that ran everywhere - Muzzle thinks he was called Rocket, which she said was rather appropriate, watching him run!

After we'd got back and Muzzle had fed us dogs, I set off with Muzzle and Daddy and a friend for lunch. Muzzle made everyone pose for a photo - if you look very carefully you can just about make me out, bottom left of photo. Muzzle made a comment to me about the Addams Family, but said not to mention it to them! I had a nice time though, one of their friends gave me some of his steak, yummy!

After lunch we went to visit some more of Muzzle and Daddy's friends, who couldn't come to lunch. They have a little baby, he's about 4 months old. I met him once before, he's the youngest child I've met. I was allowed to say hello to him - Muzzle was very proud of how gentle and calm I was, especially considering how excitable I can be, she said. I hope we will become good friends as he grows up.

After all the rain we had yesterday, the sun came back today - yay! We had a run around in the field, but Muzzle made sure we didn't get too hot.

Today it was Muzzle's birthday and we went for a really wet walk - well we didn't intend for it to be really wet, but it was anyway. Muzzle only took a few photos before she decided it was too wet for the camera.

After the walk, we came home and got dried and then I went out with Muzzle and Daddy again, to a village where the BBC is filming a Christmas special of its period drama, Cranford. We got to walk down some of the streets they are using for the show and most exciting of all, Muzzle and Dad's friend was being filmed! He is a blacksmith and the other day the BBC phoned Muzzle to see if he was free today to be filmed in a few scenes that featured a blacksmith.

We saw him all dressed up in "old" clothes and there was also a horse and cart being driven around - I was very good and sat quietly while Muzzle took lots of photos. She's going to put some on her blog later.
